Riu Park El Kebir
Rising from the shoreline a couple of kilometres from Hammamet, this hotel does ˜beachside’ with aplomb. A skip past the pool, a hop across the palm-planted lawns and you’re on the sands.The pool has a grandstand spot as well. Surrounded by terraces dotted with sunloungers and tent-shaped parasols, it seems to almost dissolve into the sea itself. And rustling eucalyptus trees complete the picture. Inside, the Riu Park goes all for out for a modern take on Tunisian design. The lobby is lined with floor-to-ceiling windows, so one of the first things you see is the sea. Otherwise, it’s all low Moorish archways, wall lanterns and gleaming marble centred round an extravagant gold sculpture of palms.
